Located in Hervey Bay, Fraser Roving sits in the "Gateway" to Fraser Island with an abundance of provisions for exploring the surrounding area of the Fraser Coast. Due to our intensive experience in the backpacker industry, our efforts and genuine willingness to assist travellers with their Fraser Island Tours has earned us nominations as the best backpacker hostel in Hervey Bay by Lonely Planet, 7 years in a row! We provide backpacker hostel accommodation, Fraser Island 4WD tours ( self drive and tag - along tours ), have a fully licensed bar on site for your enjoyment and a great Restaurant available to travellers and the public.

Reception (Open 5.30am - 9pm)

Hostel accommodation, tours and Internet services can be provided during these hours. After hours dorm accommodation can be arranged prior to arrival ,we have Free wi Fi for our Guest's.

Our hostel can provide dorm accommodation for up to 100 people at a time. We have shared dorms, private doubles and doubles with en suite facilities. Accommodation can be booked with our agents, via our website or by phoning us.

Disability Access Friendly

All facilities at Fraser Roving provide disability access inclusive of showers and toilets.

Fraser Island Backpacker Tours

Backpacker tour bookings are also provided at our reception. Fraser Island tours are available for 1 - 3 days and you can do a guided tour or Guided tour or (tag-along 4wd tour). We can also book bus tickets, local activities, your next accommodation and anything else we can help guests out with.

Guided Tours (1 - 3 Days)

These are done through local companies who provide a guide who also drives the four wheel drive bus and these tours include accommodation in the resorts on the island.

Fraser Island Self Drive Tours (3 Days)

These tours are done in a 4WD hired from us where you have 8 people in a vehicle and you are camping on Fraser Island.
We also provide local activities which include whale watching, fishing charters, scooters, skydiving, horse riding, helicopter/plane scenic flights, etc.We can also help out with bus and hostel bookings.

Tag-Along 4WD Tours

Our freedom to drive Tag-Along tours provide travellers with a unique journey to some of Fraser Islands most popular destinations. Our experienced driver/guides lead a group of 4WD vehicles around Fraser Island for a 3 day 2 night camping adventure. We provide a comprehensive safety and information briefing the day before departure as well as an itinerary and helpful hints for a safe and enjoyable trip.

Courtesy Bus (5.30am - 9pm)

We provide a pickup and drop off service for those staying with us from the bus terminal at Centro. Transfer from the Fraser Coast Airport can be organised through the Airport Shuttle Bus service which meets all incoming and departing flights 7 days of the week.

Restaurant (Open 6pm - 9pm)

Our restaurant is open every night of the week and is open to the public. We also have a communal kitchen with shared cooking facilities available for those staying with us.

Bar (Open 10am - Midnight)

We have a full bar license with a good range of Australian beers as well as a large range of Cocktails available. As we are licensed premises no personal alcohol is allowed on the premises.
Kitchen

A fully equipped communal kitchen is provided consisting of pots, pans, plates, cutlery, hot plates, microwaves, fridges etc.... Staff love it when you cook for them.

Cleaning

This is one of the most important aspects of running a backpackers hostel. The facilities must be kept to a very high standard of cleanliness which is commented on by guests staying here in our comments book and on websites. These websites are often where people book so the better the rating the more guests will book with you.

4WD Hire Centre

We have our own fleet of 4WD vehicles which are well maintained by our mechanics. Each time a 4WD vehicle returns from the island the vehicles are fully serviced. This allows us to offer top of the range 4WD vehicles in very good condition along with the latest in camping gear.

Staff

Our staff are able to provide you with the necessary information to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible by providing you with accurate and unbiased information. Fraser Roving is an "Independent Backpacker Hostel" which does not have the luxury of a chain of hostels therefore it is important that our staff go that extra mile to make our guests feel that we have looked after them. After all, there is no better way of promotion then word itself.
